About the event

The evening is part of the Maggiore_Danza 2026/2027 season and has two pieces by choreographer Raphael Bianco, danced by the EgriBiancoDanza company.

Brides of God is a new production in memory of Aliyamma Puthiyedom. It follows a period of residency and research between India and Italy and draws on classical Indian dance. Its starting point is the Devadasi, historical figures of women consecrated to dance and the divine, a subject now being critically reassessed. The choreography is dreamlike and visionary and deals with desires, fears and inner tensions.

Cantata Profana: Il cervo fatato was created for Susanna Egri's 100th birthday and first shown on 18 February 2026. It is inspired by Béla Bartók's Cantata Profana, based on an old Transylvanian legend, and focuses on the relationship between father and son. The son leaves the father's model behind in the name of freedom and emancipation.
