About the event
The group of young musicians who came together to mark half a century of The Dark Side of the Moon returns for the 50th anniversary of the next Pink Floyd album, Wish You Were Here. The album is dedicated to Syd Barrett, founder and first leader of the band, who had to leave because of a schizoid disorder and drug abuse.
The show plays the album in full and adds short narrated passages about Barrett's relationship with the rest of the band, performed by Matteo Pisu, who played the 'lunatic' in Dark Side 50. Original film footage carries full translations of the lyrics.
Around the album, the band plays some rarities from the Barrett period and other major Pink Floyd pieces. Concept and direction by Marco Rampoldi, dramaturgy by Paola Ornati.
