About the event

Stresa's Christmas calendar opens with Natale di Luce. From Saturday 5 December, the town's lakefront hosts the traditional Christmas markets in wooden huts.

The stallholders offer local crafts, original objects, vintage items and gift ideas, alongside food and wine specialities from the area. Typical winter treats are part of the offer: mulled wine, roasted chestnuts, crêpes and hot chocolate, to enjoy while walking between the stalls in December and January.

The markets take place on 5, 6, 7, 8, 12, 13, 19 and 20 December 2026, and then every day from 26 December 2026 to 6 January 2027.

Stresa Friday market

A proper Italian market: fresh dairy, fish, meat and fragrant fruit and vegetables, alongside stalls for kitchen, fishing, music and gardening gear. Leather jackets, bags and belts sell at low prices, and the clothing runs from jeans and pyjamas to socks, tights, underwear and aprons.
