About the event
FestivaLLibro is a cultural event that has brought the world of books and publishing in Italian-speaking Switzerland to Muralto since 2019. It aims to bring culture closer to readers, non-readers and anyone interested.
The programme centres on a book fair with publishers and cultural organisations, with meetings with authors, presentations of new releases and evenings with prominent guests. There are also activities for children and young people, including workshops, shows and school activities.
The event connects literature with film, illustration and other art forms. While it runs, the spaces of Muralto become a “Cittadella del Libro” (book citadel), open to meeting and discovery. FestivaLLibro is also a spin-off of the Locarno Film Festival, with which it shares an interest in the relationship between literature and film.
