Marco Paolini: Bestiario idrico (Theatre Season 2026–2027)
3 dates in Verbania, Saturday, 17 October 2026 to Saturday, 14 November 2026. Next: Saturday, 14 November 2026, 21:00.
Marco Paolini and Patrizia Laquidara perform Bestiario idrico, a staged story about rivers, canals and the communities that live beside them.
About
Hydraulic works tend to become invisible and blend into the landscape they help to build, from earthen embankments to dams, canals and aqueducts. Bestiario idrico starts from this invisibility. In this staged story, Marco Paolini weaves together geography, history and memory to show the deep link between the management of water and the lives of the communities on riverbanks.
Rivers, canals and watercourses become the protagonists of stories about people and animals, conflicts and alliances that have shaped the Italian landscape over the centuries. Paolini, joined on stage by Patrizia Laquidara, leads the audience on a journey that is both civic and poetic.
Bestiario idrico is part of Atlante delle Rive, Marco Paolini's project on water within La Fabbrica del Mondo. It is written with Giulio Boccaletti, directed by Fratelli Dalla Via, and co-produced by Jolefilm and Teatro Stabile del Veneto – Teatro Nazionale.
