What you find
Every Thursday Piazza Grande fills with stalls. The most distinctive sell local crafts: textiles, woollens, wood and ceramics. There is Ticino food too, such as fresh formaggini, eggs, and fruit and vegetables from local farmers, plus second-hand records, books, cassettes and clothes.
Tips
During the Locarno Film Festival the non-food stalls move to Largo Zorzi (in 2026 from 29 July to 14 August), while the food stalls stay in the square.
